A few days ago, the Twitter account of sandman posted the illustration by Eiichiro Oda along with a past comment on the Dragon Ball series. As we all know, both Eiichiro Oda and Akira Toriyama are one of the most loved mangaka in the Otaku world. In the 10th Treasure, 2007, Oda portraited characters of the One Piece and Dragon Ball series.
In one of his portraits, he unveiled the sketch of Goku with Luffy’s face along with a comment, “I’m working hard to draw fights with dramatic stories. If I had drawn a pure battle manga, it’d have been easily overwhelmed by Dragon Ball. I had to avoid competing with DB that was so entertaining that I myself was obsessed to.” This applauding comment by Oda sensei won the heart of every fan. Also, both Dragon Ball and One Piece have different genres, so there is no comparison between them.

Oda sensei also called Toriyama “god” in 2001. This is not surprising as 20 years ago, Dragon Ball was one of the most popular series in the world. It is also one of the old running series till now. And it is also true that no one can overwhelm Toriyama sensei in pure battle manga series.
