Call of the Night (Yofukashi no Uta) Plot
Kou Yamori is a typical middle schooler who finds it difficult to understand the complicated idea of love. He quickly stops attending school because he doesn’t see any point in conforming to the norm. Due to his inactivity, Kou starts to walk the empty streets at night and has insomnia.
Kou meets Nazuna Nanakusa, an odd girl who believes that people are awake at night because they are unhappy with their day and can’t fall asleep until they let go of their inhibitions one night. Kou is invited to Nazuna’s house, where she offers to help him with his sleeping problems and persuades him to sleep on her sofa. Kou, who feels uneasy, simply pretends to sleep, but then Nazuna bites his neck and reveals herself to be a vampire!
Kou believes that the bite would transform him into a vampire, but the process of change is more complicated than that. He has to be bit by someone he truly loves in order to change. Kou, ready to move on from his dull mortal life, makes the decision to pursue a new objective: he will fall in love with Nazuna and turn into a vampire. Does he succeed, or is it a fail?
