They granted him the authority he sought by assisting the growth of his prefecture, but only at a cost. When Kagemitsu’s son was born, he only lived without any human-like features.
The boy lacks all sense organs and is even devoid of limbs. Afraid of his child’s appearance, Digo Kagemitsu sets him afloat in a running stream.
As fate would have it, the prosthetic master finds the child and makes him capable of survival in this harsh world. The boy grows up and is named Hyakkimaru, with prosthetic limbs and a face.
He learns to use a sword and sets on an expedition to regain his lost body parts. During his journey, a demonic incident crosses his path with a nine-year-old kid Dororo. His cheerfulness helped Hyakkimaru greatly, and he agreed to allow Dororo to accompany him.
The duo now sets off to defeat the 12 demons and become normal human beings. As they move forward, defeating one after the other demon, Hyakkimaru regains a lost body part and moves a step closer to becoming a complete human. A privilege that was snatched away from him by his wealth-seeking father.
